Blooming El

G and I ordered breakfast in bed the following morning, as we were super tired. New York City may be the city that never sleeps but we certainly needed to hit the hay!

After our slow morning, we walked The High Line. It used to be a railway track many moons ago, used for transporting cargo or something like that. Eventually, the cargo stopped coming so it was left derelict until some pretty cool guys came along and transformed it into a public walkway / park / sunbathing and event area.

I thought The High Line was pretty cool and would definitely recommend walking it, if you want to reach a destination without trawling the busy city streets. We used it to get to Chelsea Market but actually missed the staircase we were supposed to 'get off' at, so we had to go back on ourselves. So engrossed in the beauty of the revamped train tracks probably!

Chelsea Market is a really cute indoor market, with little gift shops, chocolate shops, bakeries, and lots and lots of food places! I had a slice of Mozzarella pizza from Filaga and oh my, it was amazing. I'd go back to New York just for another slice!

After stuffing our faces with pizza, we got the subway to the Rockefeller centre, hoping we could just join a queue and see those beautiful views of Central Park. Unfortunately, we were wrong. We were given an allotted time, which meant we had about a 2-3 hour wait.

We decided to walk to Central Park and just chill out there for a bit. We walked around a little bit of the park and then found a shady area and just sat and watched the world go by.

Luckily, my Mum and Steve had booked a similar time slot at the Rockefeller centre, so we caught up with them on the observation deck!

The Rockefeller centre was my favourite part of the New York trip and I'm pleased that it was something myself and G could experience together for the first time. If there was a competition between the Empire State and Rockefeller, the latter would win hands down! Just look at the views!
