LIFE. TRAVEL. GRATITUDE.

WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY #70

Gratitude, counting your blessings, trying to find those small positive moments, none of these solve your problems.

They don't banish negative thoughts from your mind or make your worries disappear. They give you something positive to focus on, provide you with a little light to shine when it's dark. They push those big life things to the back of your mind, even if it's just for a second. They let you breathe a sigh of relief that actually, even when you feel like everything and everyone is crumbling around you, there's still a little moment of joy in each day.

Here are my moments of joy for the week so far...

G's Ninja Roll

Is it a ninja roll? Is that what they call it? Who knows?! G rolled across the floor ninja/007 style-y and it was pretty bloody hilarious. Sent me chuckling away like a mad woman it did.

Spontaneous Picnic

On Sunday, I wasn't feeling that great and decided to take myself off to our local lakes for a spot of reading and the teeniest, tiniest picnic known to man. I sprawled my blanket out on the grass and sat in the shade for about an hour or so. If only every weekend were as glorious as the last...

Family

Whether they're blood or not, they sure can make a difference. I'm lucky that I have a few people I can turn to in my time of need and that they all offer something different - whether that be a laugh, a hug, a listening ear, or a word of advice, I'm grateful for every single one of them.

Mars Ice Creams

I've had my fair share over the past week and I REGRET NOTHING. Those little things are a treat for the eyes, mouth, stomach, and heart.

Music Suggestions

Sian texted me yesterday to say that she'd been listening to Kacey Musgraves' new album and thought I'd like it. I'd listened to Kacey in my HMV days, after my Manager had put on one of her albums, and fell in love with a track called Silver Linings but hadn't heard much of her since. Thanks to my fellow cake lover, Kacey is well and truly back in my life and her new album is pretty good! Sian, you da best gal.

I think that's all I have in me for this week! The little lists of wonderful don't stop there though, swing by the rest of the wonder women* to see what's been making their weeks that little bit lovelier. If you fancy joining in yourself, share your #wonderfulwednesday moments with us on Twitter!
