Blooming El

LIFE. TRAVEL. GRATITUDE.

WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY #83

Yes, I know. I missed another week of #wonderfulwednesday *slaps wrist*. However, I did get a DIFFERENT post up which is always good!

When I first joined the #wonderfulwednesday gang, I promised myself that I wouldn't turn Blooming El into just an abundance of gratitude posts but it seems that I've done exactly that. Yeah sure, I've posted a few travel and thought posts every now and then but I do find it hard to find the time and motivation to just sit down and write, and as much as I love these little gratitude posts, I feel like I'm using them as an excuse to not write about other things.

From now on, I'll be joining in with #wonderfulwednesday every other week, in the hope that it'll give me more time and more motivation to write other things, so yeah...watch this space I guess.

Anyway, shall we get on with the wonderful?

Héloïse Letissier

Aka Christine and the Queens. Aka Absolute legend. Aka The sexiest, funniest, cutest person on the planet. Aka My one true obsession.

I've declared my love for Christine and the Queens several times on Blooming El and sorry guys, but I don't plan on stopping anytime soon. I AM OBSESSED (but like in a good, non-stalker way). I sat and watched a lot of videos and interviews on YouTube and I'm just in awe of everything Héloïse does. I then stumbled upon the one and only copy of Q magazine in Tesco, of which Christine and the Queens feature as September's cover, and well I just HAD to pick it up.

I urge you all to watch this little clip from Glastonbury 2016, it'll make you giggle and you'll understand why I love the woman so damn much.

A Tidy Closet

G sorted out our closet, pulling out all the boxes and clothes and then putting them back all neat and tidy. I can't tell you how happy it made me (well I can, it just might take a while). The closet is home to a lot of bottom drawer stuff, suitcases, clothes, and about 10,000 notebooks (I'm exaggerating...or am I?).

I'm hoping that we'll be in our own place by the end of the year and everything inside the closet can finally be used, but for now it looks tidy and doesn't make me want to cry and for that, I am so bloody grateful.

A Good Night's Sleep

Last week, I felt exhausted and I'm pretty sure I had a headache every single day. I decided that I'd finally shut the blinds and draw the curtains in our bedroom so that I could try and have a bit of a lay in on Saturday. It only bloody worked didn't it? I'm still suffering with a few headaches and I'm not sure why but I felt so much better after that sleep and think I'll make it a regular Friday night thaaang.

Personal Training

I have a love/hate relationship with my personal training sessions. I hate those 45 minutes where I'm out of breath and look like a beetroot BUT I love how I feel afterwards, and I love how far I've come from my first ever session. I'm not sure how long we're going to carry on for but I can't wait to see how my body looks/feels by the end of the year.

A Light Bulb Moment

One Christmas, my Nan bought me an online novel writing course. I logged in to the online portal, printed off the modules, made a few notes, then put it down and left it. It has been three years and I've only just had the 'light bulb' moment for a story. I picked up the modules this weekend and made a note of my ideas. I'm not going to expect too much of myself, I just want to work on it slowly but the ideas I have feel very strong and I'm excited to see where I go with it!
